The last week or so...warning...many pictures follow...

This week we have had so much going on! We have hardly had a minute to spare. First of all, we celebrated Paul's 23rd birthday... complete with a sombrero, fried ice cream, homemade chicken roll-ups and spice cake.

Happy birthday Paul!!!

We also had the opportunity to spend some extra time with my family because my brother Michael left on his mission today. We had everyone over for a fun sleep-over and were treated by Paul's exceptional pancakes and waffle sticks in the morning.

Before Michael left we had the chance to go to the temple to do some family work. It was an amazing experience!

Then today we had the chance to see my brother Michael off at the MTC. It was an awesome experience. I'll be posting the pictures to Michael's blog that I'll be updating regularly, so you can just check them out there. eldermichaelking.blogspot.com
It was an awesome experience... and while I;m sad to see him go, I can't wait to hear all of his experiences!

And to finish it off... we met the Rehjolecs and Springers at the park and had dinner and a rousing game of Bocce. Ok, ok, Melody, you won. lightning round or not. I'm sure Meody will post the group picture. But here's one of Julia enjoying a pickle.

A huge investment...

So just now I have made a huge investment. It's something I've wanted as long as I can remember... but my stomach is still churning to think of how much money just went into it. Every time I've looked at it I've fantasized what I could do with it. And now it is a mere 7-9 business days away from being MINE. What is it you ask? Only the greatest thing to come to Digital SLR Cameras. The Canon 40D. I am rationalizing that it is our way to stimulate the economy... except our stimulus check STILL hasn't arrived.

Countdown to baby...

Ha ha I've been thinking of the name of this post all day. I thought it was clever:) Really it is in reference to the little visitor we had yesterday. Paul and I got to babysit Melody and Jonny's most darling child, Julia. We were literally so excited that I spent the whole day counting down for the baby to come.
And Julia did not disappoint. We were captivated with her every move; especially with her ability to play X-Box. She was a natural. We were also amazed with her animal taming skills.
She seemed to love everyone but the boys... I'm sure that will be nice in about 16 years.

I also know that she loved being kissed by me. She has just the most kissable cheeks:) Anyway, we loved babysitting and we hope that we passed the test. Thanks Melody and Jonny! (And Julia for being so well behaved!)
A few more picures...

Private Blog Time...

I thought I went through this process months ago when I made our blog, but apparently it didn't take affect... so now is the time. If you would like to continue reading our blog, please leave your email address and I will add you. Don't be shy...
We'll make the switch on Saturday

Busy Weekend...

This weekend was so crazy! Paul and I ran a 5K on Saturday for a darling little boy named Charlie (check him out here)
And then we said hello to Paul's grandparents who just returned home from a mission to Hawaii
THEN we spent hours at my parents house preparing for Michael's farewell the next day. Paul has become very proficient at his job as the pool boy.
Meanwhile... I prepared a musical number for the next day...
The night continued as we chopped, boiled, sliced and mixed all of the food for the farewell. My mom is convinced that Paul is the world's best chicken chopper.
The next morning brought a new bout of craziness as I went to work and shipped Paul off to Springville for his grandparent's homecoming. We met up at my brother's farewell where he did a fantastic job and I (phew) squeaked by with a musical number thanks to my good friends Nick and Julianna. Yadda yadda, tons of people over afterwards, rounded off by a very very intense game of Revenge Speed.

Oh yeah, and I didn't take one single picture. I am currently investigating the prospects of time travel...

Family Pictures

Our family got some pictures taken for mothers day... and here they are. We have a great family friend that takes time to put up with our ever increasing family; and I get to play the photoshop game;)

I couldn't help taking a few hours on photo shop... Melynne especially usually gets some incredible shots...

A picture for Michael to take on his mission... all of his adorable sisters:)

This is what my family spends 90% of a photo shoot doing. Being out of control.

My Husband is Awesome:)

Paul has decided to sign up for a tennis tournament next week, so He has been extra practicing. (We usually play about once a week, depending on the cooperation of the weather.) Doesn't he look awesome. I think so:)
